What is lingr?
lingr is a queer connection app for iOS, built as an honest alternative to the standard app on the market. Profiles, events, connections, vouches — no ads, no bugs, no premium wall.
I've used the other app for years. Why should I switch?
In short: no ads, no premium upsells, real verification via vouches, a modern iOS-26-style UI, GDPR-compliant hosting in Germany. The long version is under "Why switch".
What does lingr cost?
Currently nothing. All features are free. If we introduce a premium tier later, we will communicate it transparently — no basic features behind a paywall, promised.
When will lingr launch?
Expected in August 2026. Join the waitlist on the homepage to get updates and the launch date first.
Is lingr just for hookups?
No. lingr is broader: connections, events, community — for singles and couples alike. Some users look for quick fun, others for long-term connections, others for friendships or shared hobbies. You decide what you are looking for.
How does the vouch system work?
Connected users can confirm each other as "real". As soon as you have at least one vouch, a verified badge appears on your profile. This helps others spot catfish and bots — without you having to upload ID selfies.
How does lingr protect my data?
Hosting in Frankfurt, fully GDPR-compliant. Location data sits in a separate table and is never shared without being asked. We sell nothing to ad networks, and there is no third-party tracking. Details are in the privacy policy.
Which devices does lingr run on?
Currently iPhone with iOS 26 or newer. An Android version is also planned — we are deliberately starting with a first-class iOS experience and will bring Android afterwards.
What happens to my data if I delete the app or switch iPhones?
Nothing gets lost. Your profile, photos, chats, connections, events and settings live safely on our servers in Frankfurt — not on your device. Just install lingr, sign in with your account and pick up exactly where you left off. Only small local things like your filter settings start fresh.
Can I use lingr on multiple devices?
Yes. Simply sign in with the same account on each device — everything stays in sync automatically, and notifications arrive on all of them.
I signed in and my profile is empty — where is my data?
Don't worry, your profile isn't gone. You probably signed in with a different method than when you registered — for example with Apple instead of email (especially if you chose Apple's "Hide My Email", which creates a second, empty account). Sign out and sign back in using your original method. If you're unsure, just write to us — we'll help.
How can I delete my profile or account?
In the app: Settings → Delete account. Alternatively via the web form at /en/account-loeschen. After confirmation there is a 30-day window during which you can recover it — after that everything is removed irreversibly.
Someone is breaking the community rules — what do I do?
Every profile and every chat can be reported directly in the app ("⋯" menu → "Report profile"). We review every report within 24 hours. For acute safety concerns you can reach us immediately at the support email.
